Important dates for applicants

 

  • Online application will start on: 10.09.2024 (12 noon)
  • Last date of submission of online application: 17.09.2024 (up to 11.59 pm)
  • Publication of Provisional comprehensive merit list: 20.09.2024 (after 12noon)
  • Receiving of queries for rectification of merit list, if any (only through email to ntgc@gmail.com): 20.09.2024 (up to 11.59 pm)
  • Publication of rectified Final comprehensive merit list: 21.09.2024(after 12noon)
  • Publication of 3rd e-Admission (1st in the Stand alone portal) list: 21.09.2024(after 12noon)

 

There is no Application fee as per government order

 

No application would be received online after the prescribed date

 Candidates are requested to go through this entire online admission notification and particularly the general direction of online application available at the Web Portal https://apjakgcadmission.com/  carefully before filling up the form.

 

The process of admission for the academic session of 2024-2025 of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Government College will be entirely online based on the GO No. 554-Edn(CS)/10M-95/14 dated 21.08.2024. The procedure of online application and admission to be followed in the online admission process is stated below:-

  1. Applications are to be submitted online within the dates as announced separately in this notice. After the last date of submission of online application the date on which the provisional merit list of the applicants ranked on the basis of merit will be published, is announced separately in this notice.
  2. A time span for lodging any complaint through email to ntgc@gmail.com regarding non-inclusion of name in the list or any other discrepancies to the institution will be given. These dates are announced separately in this notice. No complaints received after the stipulated time will be entertained.
  3. The date on which the final merit list will be published and the admission process for those merit listed applicants will announced separately.
  4. For each phase of admission specific time span will be given during which an applicant listed in the particular merit list must take admission and make the online payment of admission fees through the link given in the admission web-portal.
  5. If any applicant enlisted in any merit list does not take admission and does not make the e-payment of admission fee within the scheduled time span as announced, no further chance of admission can be given to him/her because in online admission system after the closure of the admission date and time the next candidate on the merit list is given the scope of admission.
  6. If a candidate fails to pay the admission fee within the stipulated time due to technical issues from bank’s end, no additional time can be provided to take admission as the entire admission process is time-bound and automated. Candidates are requested to make a second payment two hours after the first one if and when not automatically recognized by the system. Candidates are advised to make payments, well before the deadline. If, however, we receive multiple payments, the extra amount will be refunded after admission, on presentation of suitable documents.
  7. The applicants selected in each merit list for admission published will be informed through SMS. In spite of that all applicants are directed to keep continuous touch with the website for getting the updated information.
  8. The applicants for admission are not allowed to come to the college for any enquiry or for any other purpose from the beginning to the end of the admission process. They are to report to the college on the date of commencement of classes, to be announced later on in the college website.   1. Admission to all courses will be done strictly on the basis of merit as per the Government Order.
  2. All admissions done in online system are absolutely provisional. Admission will be cancelled outright if the information stated in the application are found not in conformity with the documents submitted at the time of verification or any fake document is produced. Therefore all applicants are requested to be very careful at the time of submission of information submitted in the admission web-portal of the college.
  3. The seat position category wise in any subject is also stated separately in this notice.
  4. All applicants getting the scope of admission must submit the anti-ragging affidavit, the format for which will be given in the admission portal. A scanned copy of the filled in and signed anti-ragging form (in plain paper) must be submitted online at the time of admission and the affidavit has to be handed over to the Anti-ragging Committee on the date of commencement of class.
  5. If any student admitted under the online system does not report for verification on the date notified in the website or continuously remain absent for two weeks without any intimation to the college authority his/ her admission will be cancelled.
  6. All applicants are hereby directed to be honest to declare at the time of online admission whether he already took admission to any other college/ institution. He/she will be given the chance of admission subject to the fulfilment of the condition that he takes cancellation statement from the previous college/ institution and send the scanned copy of the same within 7 days of the date of admission. He/she must submit the hard copy of the cancellation statement/Transfer certificate to the admission committee on the date of verification documents. It is expected that the student will not book the seats in more than one college at the same time.

 

GENERAL DIRECTION TO THE APPLICANTS FOR ONLINE APPLICATION

 

  1. Applicants should register in the online admission portal https://apjakgcadmission.com/ . They should remember their user id, password, registered mobile number, DOB, Roll No / Reg No / Unique No in 10+2 and email id. All the parameters would be required if the applicant is selected for admission after generation of merit list.

 

  1. Applicants are advised to make choice of the subjects wisely during application procedure. Random requests for change of subject after initiation of admission procedure may not be entertained by the college authority.

 

  1. Applicants are advised to avoid any typographical error. Any wrong information furnished in the application as a result of typing error may lead to cancellation of the application. The college authority has the right to cancel any application if it is proved to be erroneous during verification. Application not accompanied by proper supporting documents will also be cancelled.

 

  1. Applicants belonging to reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, EWS, PWD etc.) must upload their caste/ EWS/ disability certificates at the time of submission of online application and produce the same for verification on the date of commencement of class, if they get the chance of admission. Only students from the state of West Bengal having proper caste certificate issued by appropriate authorities are eligible for reservation under the SC, ST, OBC-A and OBC-B categories.

 

  1. Documents required at the time of verification:
    1. Print out of application form
    2. Copy of Online admission fee payment receipt
    3. Proof of Date of Birth (Madhyamik or Equivalent Examination Admit card) in original along with a self-attested photocopy of the same.
    4. Higher secondary/equivalent examination mark sheet in original along with a self-attested photocopy of the same.
    5. Caste certificate from competent authority in original along with a self-attested photocopy of the same, if applicable.
    6. Physical disability certificate from competent authority in original along with a self-attested photocopy of the same, if applicable.
    7. EWS certificate from competent authority in original along with a self-attested photocopy of the same, if applicable.
    8. Madhyamik (10 level) mark sheet
    9. Aadhaar card original along with a self-attested photocopy of the same.

 

  1. Candidates who have passed their higher secondary before 2024 must submit an undertaking stating that he/she has not taken any admission in any other college or not registered to any university. If the candidate is registered to any other University, standard norms of the West Bengal State University in addition to eligibility criteria of the college will apply for new admission

 

 

Anti-Ragging Policy

There is an Anti-Ragging Committee in the College, comprising of senior teachers. “UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009” is prominently displayed in the College website. Students are also made aware of the National Anti- Ragging Help Line (UGC Crisis Hotline) having the 24×7 Toll Free Number 1800-180-5522 and the email helpline@antiragging.in. The information packs from the anti-ragging portals are displayed in the College website in both English and the vernacular.

  1. Our institution recognizes ragging as one of the social menace, jeopardizing the future of our young generation.
  2. Our institution has zero tolerance for harassment or ragging of the students in any form.
  3. It is mandatory for all the students to give declaration at the time of admission that he/she will neither tolerate nor participate in any kind of ragging activities.
  4. Students are required to submit anti-ragging undertaking in the Anti-ragging website of UGC.
  5. Following types of activities are considered as ragging
    • Physical Abuse
    • Verbal Abuse
    • Forced Activity
    • Lifestyle Restrictions
    • Conversational Mind-games.
    • Or any kind of harassment on part of the students.
  6. According to the direction of the Supreme Court if any instance of ragging is brought to the notice of the administration or the faculty, it is legally binding on us to report the matter to the local police.
  7. Seniors are given directives so that any interaction on their part, with the freshers might remain the friendly, welcoming and non-aggressive.

Eligibility Criteria

Honours degree course:

UR, EWS & OBC:

A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination.

OR

55% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination.

SC & ST:

A minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate and 40% marks in the subject or related subjects at the previous qualifying examination.

 

 Other Important Information

 

  1. Any candidate seeking admission to a course in laboratory based subjects must have obtained pass marks in those subjects / relevant subjects at the Higher Secondary level.
  2. Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination in 2021, 2022 and 2023 may also apply.

 

N.B.: Admission into any course under this College is not complete unless and until a candidate is registered under the West Bengal State University through this College. Any suppression of facts, false statements, if revealed in future will lead to the cancelation of admission.

 

 Merit Point Calculation:

Admission will be done on merit basis and merit point for admission in Honours courses is to be calculated by adding total marks obtained in the best four subjects excluding Environmental Studies at Higher Secondary/equivalent examination and the marks obtained in the subject or related subject in which the admission in Honours course is sought.

Note: If more candidates score same merit point, preference will be given to the one who has scored higher marks in the subject, in this way, if more than one candidate have same merit points and same marks in the subject; preference will be given to the candidate who has scored higher percentage in aggregate of all subjects studied. If more than one candidate have same merit points, same marks in the subject and percentage in aggregate of all subjects studied preference will be given to the candidate who has scored higher marks in the 10 level (Madhyamik/ ICSE/CBSE etc.) examination. If an applicant gets admission on the basis of higher marks scored in 10 level Examination he/ she is to produce the Mark sheet of the said examination at the time of verification of documents on the date of commencement of classes.
